About

Off script.

Sometimes you arrive at the right place in an unusual way. UX/UI has helped me find a connection between two areas of my life that I saw as separate. I have always been a problem solver and a doer and was drawn to engineering early on, even securing my first internship at 16 at an engineering company. I thought my love for acting and improv was separate from that. I was wrong. Through my UX/UI design education, I realized that I have a unique perspective that I bring to my design projects. Through my experience with theater and improv, I learned how to think on my feet, work with others, and most importantly how to put myself into someone else’s shoes. This last one has been instrumental to my UX design approach. Understanding the end-user as an actor understands a character they play, can lead to new insights and a better end result. My ability to think systemically and to find alternate ways to solve complex problems also contributes to my skills as a designer.

I grew up in Northern Virginia. In High School I was very active in in our Robotics team, competing in First Robotics challenges. In my free time, I am an avid player of games of strategy, both board and online. I am most interested in working or living near a city. I am also open to remote work but feel at this point in my career a in-person or partially remote experience would be ideal.
